Crushing It on LinkedIn: My Journey to Becoming a Top Influencer
As someone who is struggling to maintain an active presence on LinkedIn, I know firsthand how daunting it seems to consistently create and post valuable content. But in today’s professional world, it’s becoming increasingly important to have an optimized LinkedIn profile that showcases your personal brand and promotes professional growth.
If you’re like me and have been putting off optimizing your LinkedIn profile, now is the time to take action. The platform has become a hub for networking, job searching, and even finding potential business partners. It’s no surprise that studies have shown that 72% of professionals say LinkedIn is their most used social media channel for recruiting.
But the benefits of LinkedIn go beyond just job searching. With over 740 million members worldwide, the platform offers endless opportunities for professional development and collaboration. By sharing valuable content, connecting with industry leaders, and engaging in discussions, you can establish yourself as a thought leader and expand your network.
Of course, maintaining an active presence on LinkedIn can be time-consuming and challenging, especially if you have a busy schedule.
Here are my initial two takes to becoming a successful LinkedIn Influencer.
Posted My Video of Life Map
Recently, I decided to post a video on my profile about life mapping, a topic that I am passionate about. I was thrilled to see how much traction the video gained.
What I found particularly interesting was how LinkedIn’s algorithm seems to favor video content, especially those that are engaging and informative. By incorporating visual elements and a clear message, my video was able to capture the attention of my audience and encourage them to engage with my content.
In addition to boosting my connections, I also noticed an improvement in my search appearance and post impressions. This, in turn, helped me expand my reach and connect with even more professionals in my industry.
Overall, my experience with posting a video on LinkedIn has been nothing short of positive. I have learned that the platform offers endless opportunities for creativity and engagement and that experimenting with different types of content can lead to valuable connections and professional growth.
Commented On a Few Posts
Scrolling through my LinkedIn feed, a particular post caught my eye with the statement, “Comments build a community not posts.” Intrigued by this idea, I decided to comment on the post and see what kind of response I would get. To my surprise, I received a response and it sparked a conversation between myself and the author of the post.
This interaction inspired me to comment on more posts that aligned with my interests and industry. To my delight, I received multiple responses from various members on LinkedIn, including some well-renowned professionals.
As I continued commenting on posts, I realized it was a great way to build relationships and establish a community. By engaging in thoughtful conversations and providing valuable insights, I was able to connect with like-minded individuals and even received some tips on how to improve my own LinkedIn profile.
I learned that comments are not only a way to show support for a post, but also a way to build a strong network and establish oneself as a thought leader.
Next Steps
Regular Posting
Networking has always been important to me, and LinkedIn has been a great tool for making connections with professionals from various industries. However, I’ve learned that simply creating a profile and occasionally updating it won’t help sustain a meaningful LinkedIn presence.
To stay engaged, I have to make an effort to regularly interact with my network by sharing relevant articles, congratulating others on their successes, and reaching out to connect one-on-one. By doing so, I’ll not only remained top-of-mind with my connections but also continued to learn and grow as a professional.
Collaboration
As I look to sustain my presence on LinkedIn, I am excited to explore the potential benefits of collaboration. I believe that by working with like-minded professionals, I can expand my reach, share my expertise, and build stronger relationships with my connections.
In the coming months, I plan to actively seek out collaboration opportunities, whether through co-creating content, hosting webinars, or simply working together on a project. I am eager to learn from others, gain new perspectives, and contribute to the success of my connections.
In short, my journey on LinkedIn has been one of constant evolution and engagement, and I look forward to continuing to build my presence on this invaluable platform.
